Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a 13-week Emergency Department Night Shift position requiring 2 years of ER experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital with 233 staffed beds
  • General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations
  • STEMI and Stroke Certified facility handling shock/trauma, gunshot wounds, and multisystem organ dysfunction cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 17:45 to 06:15
  • 36 hours per week
  • Required to work every 3rd weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • No floating required outside of scope
  • EPIC charting system used and experience required

Requirements

  • Active MO or compact RN license required (must be in hand at time of consideration)
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
  • CPI and TNCC certifications preferred
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG required
  • Experience managing patients with CVA and traumatic brain injury
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
  • Manage patients experiencing acute psychosis, drug overdose, suicidal ideation, and violent behavior
  • Perform splint application and orthopedic care as needed
  • Navy scrubs required
  • No parking costs at this facility
  • Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved with no exceptions
  • Must reside outside of a 75-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
  • Standard travelers may work at this facility for up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
  • Permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within the system as a traveler
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
