Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN with a compact or LA license for a night shift position requiring ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications.
Details
- Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients in a non-trauma, stroke-certified facility
- Average daily census of 114 with 29 rooms and a typical patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (18:45-07:15), unit also open to 4x12 schedules
- Epic EMR experience required
- No on-call requirements
- May be assigned to an Emergency Team during facility emergency events, requiring extended on-site presence until relief or event resolution
Requirements
- Active compact or LA RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI (CPI may be completed on site)
- Preferred certifications: NRP and TNCC
- AHA certifications required
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care, neurological and CVA assessment, emergency medications, IV insulin protocols, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring
- Experience with splinting, ortho trauma, and mental/behavioral health conditions preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Up-to-date NURSYS report (within 4 weeks) required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide emergency nursing care across a combined adult/pediatric population in a stroke-certified, non-trauma ED
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Orientation held 5 days per week
- Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
- Two Manager/Supervisor references (not Charge RNs) required to obtain clearance to start, though not required at submission
- RTO must be disclosed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Previous permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the health system for at least one full year before returning as a travel employee
