Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.
Details
- Acute care hospital Emergency Department, adult/pediatric combined
- STEMI and Stroke certified facility
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 1745-0615
- Every third weekend and every other holiday required
- No on-call responsibilities
- No floating required outside of scope
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required (no issuance if tied to another compact state)
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- CPI and TNCC certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation
- Experience with trauma and shock patients, including gunshot wounds
- Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
- Experience with pediatric emergency conditions preferred
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
- Manage a range of emergency conditions including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and traumatic injuries
- Perform procedures such as IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration
- Administer emergency medications and IV vasopressors as needed
- Support patients requiring procedural sedation and ventilator care
- Navy scrub color required
- Must be clean-shaven or have facial hair compatible with respirator fit testing
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
- Returning travelers must complete an 18-month assignment period followed by a 3-month break in service
- Permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
