Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a 13-week evening/night assignment requiring OR RN licensure, Epic experience, and at least 2 years of ER nursing experience.

  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Evening shift (3x12 hours, 2:00 PM-2:30 AM) and Night shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM) on a variable schedule
  • Every other weekend required, with facility coordinating to avoid back-to-back weekends
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • No floating between units within the facility, though floating to nearby affiliate/sister hospitals may be required
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • No block scheduling

Requirements

  • Active RN license required
  • Active OR RN license required (can submit with license pending unless otherwise specified)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (NRP preferred)
  • Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, triage
  • Preferred skills: blood product administration, central line care/management, IV vasopressor administration
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency department nursing care across a combined adult and pediatric patient population
  • Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia management as part of daily responsibilities
  • Facility is a short-term acute care teaching hospital with 59 total staff beds
  • Scrubs provided for ED staff; any color accepted for other departments
  • No parking fees at this facility
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process; up to 6 days or 3 consecutive days may be auto-approved, with additional time subject to client approval
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this position
  • Travel experience is not required
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Former permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Candidates may be required to float to nearby sister facilities within the same health system
