Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 24-bed Emergency Department, including behavioral health patients in a locked unit, managing a diverse patient population including psych, trauma, sepsis, cardiac, stroke, and general medical cases
• Perform and assist with RSI, conscious sedation, and management of lines, drains, and tubes
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4–5, adapting to unit needs and patient acuity levels
• Document accurately and efficiently using EPIC EMR (required)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including hospitalists, respiratory therapy, charge nurses, ER techs, and mid-level providers available around the clock
• Adhere to holiday and scheduling expectations, including every-other-weekend rotation and time-off request protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 3–5 years of Emergency Room experience in a Level 3 or higher trauma center (for preceptor/experienced traveler roles); traditional travelers require 2+ years in a Level 3 or higher setting
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (MOAB/CPI preferred but may be obtained after start; ENPC or ATCN may be accepted in lieu of PALS or TNCC for traditional travelers)
• EPIC EMR proficiency required
• Proficiency in general ER skills including RSI and conscious sedation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level 3 or higher trauma center with high-acuity and behavioral health patient populations
• Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Experience with telemetry monitoring (bedside and centralized)
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-stress environment with strong emphasis on teamwork
