Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced ER Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level I trauma facility. The RN will provide emergency care to patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care, including triage and patient assessment.
- Care for patients with traumatic injuries and other emergency conditions.
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and respond to emergencies.
- Start and maintain IVs, perform phlebotomy, and administer blood products.
- Administer IV vasopressors and care for ventilated patients.
- Follow isolation precautions and maintain appropriate PPE practices.
- Collaborate with respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and other departments.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience; 18 months may be accepted from a comparable facility.
- Level I and Level II trauma experience required.
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood administration, IV vasopressors, and ventilated patients.
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI/MAB/Team certification.
- Preferred: NIHSS and TNCC.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Teaching hospital experience preferred.
Intermittent weekend coverage is required. Candidates must be available to work 2 of the 3 upcoming major holidays. No on-call requirement. Travelers will not be assigned trauma patients initially. COVID-19 vaccination is required; medical and religious exemptions are accepted.
