Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Dept RN with a CA license and at least 2 years of ED experience for an evening shift assignment at an academic medical center.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a teaching hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Comfortable caring for pediatric patients in the ED
• Evening shift schedule (3x12 hours, 14:00-02:30)
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule required
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (EMSA not accepted)
• BSN required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (TNCC and NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, central line care, IV vasopressors, BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care for adult and pediatric trauma and acute patients
• Navy blue scrubs provided
• Previous travel assignment experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• RTO must be submitted with initial profile and kept under 7 days per assignment if possible
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Former UCLA contractors, travelers, or employees must complete a 12-month separation and clearance before reapplying
• Candidates currently active with any University of California entity are not eligible
