Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Night Shift Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ER experience and an NM or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Preferred experience with Epic charting system
• At least 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
• Floating to like units within scope required as needed based on facility needs

Requirements

• Active NM or compact RN license required (pending compact accepted if obtained prior to start)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
• 2 years of ER nursing experience preferred
• Preferred experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
• Preferred experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Preferred experience interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Preferred experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Preferred experience with neurological cases including CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Preferred experience in Level I or Level II Trauma Centers, teaching hospitals, community hospitals, and LTAC settings
• Preferred experience with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Preferred experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Preferred previous charge nurse experience

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a range of trauma and non-trauma cases, including shock/trauma, pediatric emergencies, and cardiac events
• Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified center
• Complete required onsite orientation modules (RN average 4-6 hours) during orientation
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius as locals are not accepted
• Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
