Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a fast-paced combined adult/pediatric ER requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and an active NY RN license.

Details

• Emergency Department setting treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• 13-week assignment with Day shift schedules (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00 or 11:00-23:00)
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 with mixed/shared acuity levels
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required when census warrants
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand to apply
• Minimum 1-1.5 years of recent ER experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure patients
• Skilled in blood product administration and central line care/management
• Experience with continuous IV paralytics, sedation, vasopressors, and emergency medications
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring experience
• Experience with CVA management and isolation precautions/PPE
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions in a busy, fast-paced ER
• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, and dysrhythmia management
• Manage patients with psychiatric holds, suicidal ideation, and drug overdose
• Apply and manage orthopedic splints as needed
• Scrub colors limited to navy and white combinations
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
• Minimal RTO requested during the assignment
• Previous employees must have at least 6 months since their last assignment system-wide
