Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring WI or compact RN licensure and recent adult/pediatric ED experience.

Details

• Work in a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department at a Level II Trauma Center
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 1900-0730, including weekends and holidays
• Floating required as needed
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting the assignment
• At least one prior travel assignment of six months or more required; extensions highly preferred
• Level II Trauma Center experience required; Level I Trauma and teaching hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including pediatrics, psychiatric emergencies, trauma, cardiac, neurological, and respiratory cases
• Perform skills such as IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
• Manage ventilated and intubated patients, interpret ABGs, and monitor cardiac dysrhythmias
• Experience with triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic splinting
• Telemetry exam requires passing with no incorrect answers on 3rd degree heart block questions and 100% identification of lethal rhythms, with up to two attempts allowed
