Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a Level IV Trauma, critical access hospital setting requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications along with prior charge nurse experience.

Details

• Work in the ER of an acute care medical center that also includes a long-term care facility and outpatient services
• Level IV Trauma, Critical Access Hospital setting
• 3x12 variable shifts including both day (7:00-19:00) and night (19:00-7:00) schedules
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of ER nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Skills required include respiratory care of ventilated patients, medication administration, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Continuous IV sedation experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Returning former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside the 50-mile radius
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests should be submitted upfront and are granted based upon request
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Scrub color is flexible, business casual or any color accepted
• Facility-provided housing is available for the duration of the assignment
