Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I Trauma Center experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Night shift, 3 or 4x12 hours (6:00 PM-6:30 AM), every other weekend
• ER unit with patient ratios of 4:1, occasionally flexing to 5:1
• Frequently requires staffing in the behavioral health ED POD
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating required outside of service line
• No on-call requirements
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (pending IL license accepted)
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS required; CPI, NIHSS, and TNCC preferred
• 3 years of ER experience required (2-3 years considered with Level I Trauma Center and travel experience)
• Previous travel experience required
• Level I and/or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must pass Relias EKG exam demonstrating interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of psychiatric and behavioral health patients required
• Must be clean-shaven or have facial hair compatible with respirator fit testing

Additional Information

• Work in a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center teaching hospital
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• Travelers may remain for up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
• Permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
