Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring MD or compact license and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Approximately 150 visits per day
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00), 36 or 48 hours per week
• Call required every other weekend and holiday rotation as necessary
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• May come into contact with COVID-19 patients

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS required
• CPI, MAB, and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
• At least 1 previous travel assignment required for consideration
• Skills required: IV starts and phlebotomy
• Preferred skills: charge experience, triage, and preceptor experience
• Central line care/management and continuous IV sedation experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Perform triage duties for incoming patients
• On-unit training provided before being expected to work in a charge capacity
• Scrubs not provided; navy blue color required
• Flu vaccine required for all employees
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days off per 13-week contract
• Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius at a reduced rate
• Candidates with previous MedStar employment must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
