Description

American Traveler is seeking a Float Pool RN to rotate across ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg and PCU units, requiring at least 1 year of RN experience with Telemetry background and an active KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Float pool position rotating between ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg and PCU units
• Cares for patients of varying acuity levels across multiple units
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 3x12 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• Requires flexibility and time management to float across units as needed

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with required Telemetry experience
• ICU or critical care experience preferred
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• BLS (AHA) required within 90 days of hire
• ACLS (AHA) required within 6 months of hire
• PALS required within 6 months of hire
• NIHSS required within 6 months of hire
• Nonviolent crisis prevention training required before end of orientation and annually thereafter
• Annual influenza vaccination required
• Candidates holding ACLS, PALS and NIHSS upon hire strongly preferred
• Last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of date of birth required for consideration

• Performs hourly patient rounding and bedside shift reporting
• Prioritizes patient care as needs change throughout shift
• Maintains ongoing communication with physicians and other departments
• Adheres to infection-control protocols and patient privacy and confidentiality requirements
• Frequent lifting, pushing and pulling over 35 lbs, walking, repetitive motion and bending required
• Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps and airborne infectious diseases
• Implements professional nursing practice centered on patient-focused, evidence-based care
• Coordinates admission, transfer, and discharge activities along with patient and family education
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate, with a 75-mile radius rule for travel rate eligibility
