Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Float Pool position at a large teaching hospital, requiring critical care expertise and a VT or compact RN license.

Details

• Float Pool position based primarily in Medical ICU with overflow to Neuro ICU
• Floating required to additional units including SICU, Miller 3, and Miller 4, ED boarders, and surge areas as needed
• Patient population includes post cardiac surgery, vascular, trauma, general surgery, neurosurgery, and overflow MICU cases
• Responsibilities include starting IVs, managing multiple titrating drips, and critical vent care
• Uses Epic EMR
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 36 hours per week
• Minimum of every other weekend required with flexibility for scheduling adjustments based on unit needs
• 16-week assignment length
• No block schedules permitted

Requirements

• Active VT or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start
• CCRN certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience at a large teaching facility with 500+ bed count required
• Trauma Level 1 facility experience required
• Experience with multi-system disease, CRRT, IABP, ECMO, COVID, ventilators, and multiple drips required
• Hemodynamic device experience required
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required

Additional Information

• Must work 2 of the 4 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day
• Any solid color scrubs permitted
• Bi-weekly orientations held on Mondays
• Reliable personal transportation strongly recommended as public transportation is not accessible in the area
• All-season or snow tires recommended for vehicles during November through April
• First-time travelers are not considered due to prior travel experience requirement
• Local candidates accepted
• Travel, radius, and local pay rates available based on mileage from facility
