Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care through the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while ensuring compliance with hospital guidelines and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create individualized care plans.
• Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status at team conferences and ensure accurate documentation of assessments and interventions.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and prioritize patient education based on identified health care needs.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to the care team to support continuity and patient safety.
• Provide supervision and training to ancillary nursing staff while promoting a positive work environment.
• Maintain safety standards for patient handling, environmental cleanliness, and infection control.

Required Experience

Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS Certification is required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification is required prior to the first shift for specific units.
