Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week night-shift assignment in Tomball, Texas. The ideal candidate will have strong Medical ICU experience and demonstrated proficiency in ventilator management and IV medication drip titration.

The nurse will provide high-quality care to critically ill patients, collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, and respond effectively to changes in patient conditions. Candidates must be flexible, dependable, and committed to delivering safe, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.

• Monitor vital signs, hemodynamic status, and changes in patient condition.

• Manage ventilators and provide appropriate respiratory support.

• Administer and titrate IV medication drips according to provider orders and facility protocols.

• Assist with and provide care related to intubation, central lines, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and endoscopy procedures.

• Monitor treatment responses and promptly escalate clinical concerns.

• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.

• Maintain accurate documentation in the Expanse EMR system.

• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies.

• Float to the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) as required, within competency and facility policy.

• Work collaboratively with the charge nurse and interdisciplinary team.

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory qualifications:

• Previous Medical ICU experience.

• Ventilator management experience.

• IV medication drip titration experience.

• Ability to care for critically ill patients with a typical 2:1 patient ratio.

• Ability to adapt to changing patient acuity and unit needs.

• Willingness to float to Progressive Care when required.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.

• Basic Life Support (BLS).

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

• NIH certification (NIH Stroke Scale).

Candidates should be familiar with ICU care involving the following procedures:

• Endotracheal intubation.

• Central line placement and management.

• Endoscopy.

• Tracheostomy care.

• Chest tube management.
