Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC (Stepdown) position requiring WI/Compact license and prior telemetry/stepdown travel experience.

Details

  • Work in the IMCU (Intermediate Care/Stepdown) unit of a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and renal stepdown cases requiring telemetry monitoring
  • Patient ratio of 1:3-4
  • Variable schedule primarily days, with occasional evening/night shifts (1500-0300 or 0300-1500)
  • Uses Epic charting system (experience preferred)

Requirements

  • Active WI or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted at submission, must be finalized during compliance)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required in hand
  • NIHSS certification required (may be pending at submission but must be completed during compliance)
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
  • Experience with cardiac drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry monitoring
  • Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation preferred
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • SSN, DOB, and RTO required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care in a stepdown/intermediate care unit, monitoring and managing telemetry, cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and renal patients
  • Participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed
  • Badge photo (passport-style) required within 24 hours of offer acceptance
  • Two supervisor references required after offer acceptance, with one from the most recent assignment or permanent position
  • Orientation includes modules averaging 3-4 hours in length
  • Facility cannot accommodate travelers with latex allergies
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
  • Travelers may return only after a minimum 1-year separation from the facility
  • Travel pairs accepted
