Job Summary:
The healthcare organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in Reno, Nevada. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with complex medical needs, including stroke, sepsis, cardiac, and respiratory conditions. The position requires delivering clinical excellence within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, supporting patients during recovery with moderately complex assessments and therapies.
Job Details:
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
- Location: Reno, Nevada
- Schedule: 3x12 Night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with schedule variation based on department needs.
- Required Qualifications: Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale). Minimum 2 years of IMCU/Stepdown experience required. Experience with vasopressors, titratable drips, arterial lines, neuro-stepdown patients, procedural sedation, thrombolytics, and tracheostomy management required. Must pass an ECG/Telemetry exam including rhythm strip interpretation.
- Preferred Qualifications: Medical/Neuro ICU experience is preferred.
- Additional Information: Travelers may be required to float to meet organizational needs up to their competency level. Flexibility to work major holidays and an additional shift during each 4-week schedule is expected. Travelers must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Eve + Day count as one holiday). The unit comprises 18 beds focused on patients requiring moderate, but timely, complex interventions. The hospital is a designated Level II Trauma Center with advanced technological capabilities and serves a large regional area.
