Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Infusion Center position requiring prior outpatient oncology/infusion experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Hospital-based Infusion Center within a Cancer Center setting
• Patient population includes solid tumor cancers, lymphomas, chronic leukemia, iron deficiency, myelodysplastic syndrome, and neuro-oncology cases
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Performs specialized procedures including bone marrow aspirations, intravesicular chemotherapy for bladder cancer, and intrathecal chemotherapy
• Utilizes specialized equipment such as Cyracom interpreter machine, blood warmer, Hoyer lift, vein finder, and ultrasound-guided IV machine
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, with variable start times (8:30a-5p, 9a-5:30p, or 9:30a-6p)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• May float to any facility campus as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and ONS/ONCC (Chemo)
• Preferred certifications: ACLS and OCN
• Previous infusion center and outpatient oncology experience required
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG competency exam during compliance (two attempts allowed)
• Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, central line care, and chemotherapy administration
• Experience recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis, sepsis, and tumor lysis syndrome
• Experience providing psychosocial and symptom management care to oncology patients

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy, biotherapy, and infusion therapy administration
• Care for patients across a wide range of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, pancreatic, and blood-related cancers
• Support psychosocial care needs including patient/family education, advanced directives, and hospice care coordination
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, and no local rates apply
• RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted
• Client maintains a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Study materials for the required EKG exam are not provided by the facility
