Job Title: Interventional Technologist I Profession: Clinical Technicians Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience not specified License: ARRT (RT) Required Certifications: BLS / ACLS required Must-Have: - Demonstrates knowledge and skill in applying principles of medical imaging, positioning of patients, and medical ethics. - Applies core knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology associated with specialty imaging procedures. - Demonstrates ability and skill to apply theory, practices, and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze, and annotate study data or procedure documentation. - Applies knowledge of sterile fields consistently, ensuring a safe environment for the patient. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to apply HIPAA guidelines and standards. Description: The Interventional Technologist I assists physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor, and treat conditions, defects, and/or diseases without surgery. This position is designed for those gaining experience in interventional radiology or invasive cardiology or for experienced imaging professionals wishing to begin a career in the discipline. Responsibilities include assisting providers in performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures such as cardiac catheterization, angiography, and biopsies. Utilizes specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and/or invasive procedures in line with established scope of practice guidelines. Ensures procedures are performed safely and with the highest quality standards. Acts as a scrub tech while assisting providers during procedures. Maintains a strict sterile field in adherence to safety protocols. Responds to inquiries from patients and family members, providing clear information regarding diagnostic testing and expected result timelines. Collaborates with team members across the organization to provide exceptional patient care. Conducts post-testing quality reviews to confirm that all required elements are completed, documented, and align with departmental and accreditation standards. Transfers images and data to the appropriate electronic health system and prepares studies for reporting by physicians. Performs quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting, and other equipment maintenance tasks. Assists with quality assurance, audits, and performance improvement tasks as requested. Provides on-call clinical coverage outside regularly scheduled duty hours. May support academic partnerships by actively engaging in teaching of students in the radiologic program. May serve as a departmental preceptor to provide instruction and mentorship to new or less experienced team members. Performs other duties as assigned.
