Job Title: Interventional Technologist I Profession: Interventional Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum experience required License: ARRT (RT) Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Required Must-Have: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ARRT (RT), RCES, or RCIS certification required within 18 months of hire. Description: The Interventional Technologist I assists Physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor, and treat simple to complex conditions without surgery. This position is intended for those gaining experience in Interventional Radiology or Invasive Cardiology or are experienced Imaging professionals wishing to begin a career in the discipline. The role involves assisting Providers in performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, angiography, device implantation, biopsies, thrombectomy, embolization, and pain management. The Technologist utilizes a variety of specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and invasive procedures in accordance with established guidelines. Ensuring procedures are performed safely and meet the highest quality standards while maintaining a focus on patient-centered care is essential. The Technologist prepares patients for procedures and provides comfort before, during, and after the procedures. Acting as a scrub tech while assisting Providers during procedures is a key responsibility. A strict sterile field must be maintained, adhering to safety protocols. Responding to inquiries from patients and family members and providing clear information regarding diagnostic testing and expected result timelines is important. Collaboration with team members is necessary to provide exceptional patient care. Conducting post-testing quality reviews to confirm all required elements are completed and documented in alignment with standards is required. Transferring images and data to the appropriate electronic health system, entering technical data/findings, and preparing the study for reporting by the physician is essential. Performing quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining equipment per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines is part of the role. The Technologist assists with quality assurance, audits, and performance improvement tasks. Providing on-call clinical coverage outside scheduled duty hours on weekdays, weekends, and holidays is expected. Engaging in teaching of students in the radiologic program and serving as a departmental preceptor to mentor new or less experienced team members may also be necessary. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
