Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit within a 35-bed Women's Hospital setting
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment length
• Patient ratios of 1:1/2:1 for laboring patients and 2:1 for APU and PACU
• Procedures performed include vaginal delivery, cesarean sections, PACU recovery, and antepartum care/testing
• Continuous electronic fetal monitoring utilized on the unit
• Equipment includes Hill-Rom birthing beds, Alaris IV pumps, GE Corometrics fetal monitors, Panda warmers, CADD Solis epidural pumps, and NOVI wireless fetal monitors
• EMR systems used include CPN (Centricity) and Meditech
• 13-bed Maternal Assessment Center supports triage of pregnant patients
• 24/7 ancillary services available including anesthesia, neonatal, laborist, and hospitalist support

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification required
• NRP must be Advanced 9th Edition
• OR circulation for cesarean sections preferred
• Experience with FSE and IUPC placement preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients including vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Follow unit protocols for Pitocin, cervical ripening, magnesium sulfate, hydralazine, and labetalol administration
• Unit holds Baby Friendly Designation
• Required to wear royal blue scrubs
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel position
• First-time travelers may be considered
