Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience, Epic proficiency, and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
  • Facility averages 200-300 births per month
  • Patient population includes labor/preterm labor, low-risk and high-risk antepartum, and GYN surgical cases
  • Duties include circulating, OB-GYN care, pre-op/post-op, scrub duties, and couplet care
  • Staffing ratio of 1:1-3
  • Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Floating required to Post-Partum and NICU units based on skill set
  • Floating between sister facilities within the state may be required

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy and administration of blood and blood products
  • Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
  • Experience with anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
  • Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries and circulating/recovering C-sections
  • Skilled in sterile vaginal exams and epidural anesthesia pain management
  • Experience with fetal monitoring and IUPC placement and calibration
  • Experience in antepartum and postpartum care and procedures
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include attending all deliveries including high-risk deliveries, GYN surgeries, and providing couplet care and low-risk antepartum/transition nursery support
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility unless traveling from outside that radius
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Former permanent employees of this facility may return as travelers after a 3-month separation period, provided they reside outside the 50-mile radius
  • Former permanent employees of other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) are eligible after a 3-month separation
  • All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; requests made after offer may not be granted
  • Teaching hospital environment
