Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN Intermediate certification and offering a 13-week day shift assignment.

Details

• Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital with 100-200 facility births per month
• Patient population includes antepartum and high-risk delivery cases
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend requirement of 4-6 shifts per 6 weeks
• Floating to like units within scope as needed based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided
• EMR charting experience required (any system), with EPIC experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending NM/Compact license accepted if obtained prior to start
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP (pending certifications accepted), and AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required, not including new graduate orientation time
• Experience with antepartum care, high-risk and vaginal delivery, and C-section circulating/recovery
• Experience with sterile vaginal exams, obstetrical triage, and external fetal monitoring (EFM)
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
• Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum monitoring, high-risk and vaginal deliveries, and C-section support
• Utilize isolation precautions and PPE as required
• Scrubs are provided
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Previous staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
