Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital in Washington, DC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and a valid DC RN license.
Details
- Work setting is a 228-bed Level 1 Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Assignment is in the Labor & Delivery unit, with work settings encompassing L&D, antepartum care and procedures, and obstetrical triage
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (19:30–08:00)
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required
- Charting systems in use include Centricity, Sorian, EDM, Lawson, and Kronos
Requirements
- Active RN license in Washington, DC currently in hand (pending licenses are not accepted)
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate; Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) is also required
- Minimum of 2 years of L&D experience required
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Valid driver's license (copy required for consideration)
- Two supervisor references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Couplet care and postpartum patient care are preferred skills
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Parking is the clinician's responsibility; options include street meters ($2.00/hr), or pre-paid hospital parking ($3.50/day, $17.25/week, or $69/month); the facility is also accessible via Metro (Shaw/Howard University station on the Green and Yellow lines) and multiple bus routes
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have at least 2 years of experience
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 1 year to be eligible
- A maximum of 1 RTO request is permitted for this assignment
