Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring at least 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and night shift availability on a 4x12 schedule.
Details
- Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, high-risk deliveries, low-risk antepartum, post-op/pre-op, and GYN surgeries
- Staffing ratio of 1:1–3
- Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Floating required to Post-Partum and NICU based on skill set; travelers may also be expected to float between sister facilities within the state
- Procedures include blood/blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, cooling/warming blankets, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, wound vac, and administration of heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
- Responsibilities include attending all deliveries including high-risk, couplet care, transition nursery, and circulating for C-sections
- Epic EMR experience required
- 26-week contract
Requirements
- Active WA state RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate; ACLS preferred
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, central line maintenance (CVC/PICC), anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensive administration, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, sterile vaginal exam, epidural anesthesia, PCA management, C-section circulation and recovery, and obstetrical triage
- 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty are required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted; local candidates are eligible at the same bill rate
- Former permanent employees of any Providence facility (non-Swedish) must have been separated for at least 3 months before being eligible; former permanent Swedish facility employees are not eligible
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (as permanent staff, traveler, or registry/per-diem), including location and dates
- Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO may not be approved
- Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
