Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience, Epic proficiency, and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
  • Facility performs 200-300 births per month
  • Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, and high-risk antepartum cases
  • Duties include circulating, OB-GYN support, pre-op, post-op, and scrub roles
  • Attends all deliveries including high-risk deliveries and GYN surgeries
  • Provides couplet care, low-risk antepartum care, and transition nursery support
  • Staffing ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:3
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Floating required to Post-Partum and NICU units based on skill set
  • May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, central line maintenance (CVC/PICC), and medication administration
  • Experience with anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy required
  • Labor and delivery management skills required including assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections, and sterile vaginal exams
  • Pain management skills required including epidural anesthesia and use of IV PCA
  • Knowledge of fetal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration required
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

  • Teaching hospital environment
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate, unless local
  • Former Providence permanent staff must be separated for at least 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible to return as a traveler
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Care responsibilities include antepartum care, postpartum care, obstetrical triage, and wound assessment
  • Isolation precautions and PPE protocols must be followed
