Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) specializing in postpartum and obstetric care is needed at a healthcare facility. This role involves providing comprehensive care for patients undergoing vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, tubal ligations, and circumcisions. The position offers an opportunity to work within a supportive interdisciplinary team and manage various obstetric and postpartum clinical responsibilities.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/24/2026.
- Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience in labor and delivery, certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with postpartum care, newborn assessment, use of PCA (Patient-Controlled Analgesia) pumps, and postpartum hemorrhage management.
- Clinical Responsibilities: Blood and blood product administration, management of drains, epidural, PCA, and syringe pumps, wound vacuum application, and postpartum re-admission. Management of normal newborn thermoregulation and glucose levels, postpartum and post-cesarean care.
- Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, infants, and adults.
- Unit Details: Care for post-partum vaginal and cesarean delivery patients, tubal ligation, circumcisions, GYN surgeries, and transition nursery.
- Special Procedures/Unit Details: Administration of blood/blood products, use of various pumps, wound vacuum treatment, narcotic and epidural management, and newborn care including thermoregulation and hypoglycemia.
- Additional Unit Information: Support for GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum, and transition nursery.
- Travel Experience Required: Yes.
- References: Two references covering one year (six months for CNAs) within the last three years are required prior to start.
- Modules: Non-billable, averaging 16 hours of required training, to be completed pre-start and annually.
