Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in ISSAQUAH, Washington. This position involves providing specialized care for women during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages. The role includes managing antepartum and postpartum patients, assisting with various obstetric procedures, and ensuring safe and effective patient care in a hospital setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Two or more years of experience in labor and delivery specialized care, certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), experience with postpartum care, newborn assessment, infant identification, phototherapy, thermoregulation, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and related procedures.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum, transition nursery, and familiarity with Epic charting system.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Labor and Delivery (L&D) units.
- Additional Information:
- Focus on postpartum vaginal or cesarean delivery care, tubal ligation, circumcision, GYN surgeries, and post-op care.
- Responsible for blood and blood product administration, use of epidural, PCA, and syringe pumps, wound vac management, and medication administration such as Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate.
- Manage normal newborn care, thermoregulation, glucose management, and postpartum re-admissions.
- Requires two references covering the past year during the compliance process, which may include Charge Registered Nurses or Lead Staff members.
- Orientation hours and other operational details will be coordinated as per the facility standards.
