Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Nashville, Tennessee. This position involves providing specialized care for patients during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum period. The role requires coordination with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes for mothers and newborns, utilizing advanced skills and certifications.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as an RN, with at least 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience. Certifications including AWHONN Intermediate (not advanced) or Continuous Electronic Fetal Monitoring (CEFM), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) are required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with shared decision-making in the labor and delivery setting, familiarity with documentation systems such as CPN or Meditach, and prior exposure to new equipment or technology.
- Additional Information: The role involves caring for the laboring patient, newborn immediately after delivery, and providing care for cesarean section patients. Procedures performed include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, dilation and curettage, cerclage, epidural anesthesia, tub labor. The unit operates with specific policies for floating, which requires travelers to float first if needed. Dress code adherence is specified; scrubs are not provided by the hospital.
