Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) specialty position is based in Seattle, Washington. This role involves providing high-risk obstetric care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, supporting midwifery clients, private obstetric providers, and adult recovery services. The nurse will function as a Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum, following protocols for electronic fetal monitoring and postpartum assessments.

Job Details:

  • Location: Seattle, WA
  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 09/14/2026
  • Required Qualifications: At least 3-5 years of experience in high-risk labor and delivery environments; current valid licensure with a compact license; prior supervisory references; proof of required certifications including BLS, NRP, ACLS (preferred: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate); minimum 2 years of high acuity experience; experience with electronic fetal monitoring; and proficiency in maternal/newborn assessments and interventions.
  • Preferred Qualifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate certifications; experience with high volume/high risk delivery care, EPIC electronic fetal monitoring, and adherence to AWHONN guidelines.
  • Float: Float to sister facilities supporting Mother/Baby services may be required.
  • Special Procedures/Unit Details: High-Risk, high-volume labor, and delivery with four operating rooms; ability to manage postpartum and antepartum care; functions as a Baby Nurse in delivery; proficient in newborn assessments, eye and thigh injections, and initial newborn care.
