Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Austin, Texas. This contract position involves providing specialized nursing care within the labor and delivery unit, supporting obstetrical patients through various procedures and patient care activities. The role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team in a Level III maternal designation facility, with a focus on high-risk obstetrics.
Job Details:
- Location: Austin, TX
- Shift Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Target Start Date: 08/24/2026
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Certified Surgical Techs (CST), at least 2 years experience in High Risk OB, current certification in Advanced Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM)/ AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM).
- Preferred Qualifications: High Risk OB including Massive Transfusion, experience with placenta accrete spectrum disorders (PASD).
- Unit Information:
- Number of Beds: 12 Labor, 5 Antepartum, 4 OBED, 3 Operating Rooms
- Staffing: 72 staff including nurses, certified surgical techs, and schedulers
- Staff Shift Composition: Day shift (1 charge, 10 RN, 2 CST days, 1 scheduler); Night shift (1 charge, 10 RN, 1 CST night, 1 scheduler)
- Patient Ratios: 1:2 and 1:1 with transition and acuity-based assignments
- Equipment: Alaris Pumps, CADD epidural pumps
- EMR Systems: CPN and Meditech
- Additional Information:
- Highly engaged, motivated, and team-oriented staff with a positive outlook
- Self-scheduling among team members
- Schedule includes night shifts with availability to work weekends (4 weekend shifts per scheduling period)
- The unit serves both Level II Neonatal and Level III Maternal Designation, moving towards next accreditation phases
- Known for staff engagement, strong physician relationships, and innovative equipment
