Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Department professional position located in Riverside, California. This role involves providing bedside care to obstetric patients in a busy labor and delivery unit, with a focus on managing labor, conducting cervical exams, monitoring fetal well-being, and performing related procedures. The position offers a 12-hour shift schedule aimed at supporting the clinical needs of the facility over a minimum of 48 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification, California licensed registered nurse with 0+ years of experience in labor and delivery
- Preferred Qualifications: Over 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, experience as a transition nurse or baby catching, skills in fetal monitoring and couplet care
- Clinical Responsibilities: Managing labor, titrating medications, performing cervical exams, fetal monitoring, NSTs, and managing postpartum care with couplets
- Personnel and Patient Care: All staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 10 staff nurses, and 2 OB technicians per shift
- Unit Information: Equipped with GE fetal monitoring systems, the unit handles approximately 11 labor beds, 4 observation beds, 2 OB PACU beds, and 2 surgical rooms
- Policies and Guidelines: Staff are expected to adhere to hospital dress code in infant security scrubs; weekend and on-call coverage are required as needed; no scheduled on-call is generally required
