Unit & Role Overview

As an RN – Labor & Delivery, you will provide specialized nursing care to mothers during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum. You will play a critical role in ensuring safe deliveries and positive patient outcomes for both mother and newborn.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments
• Monitor fetal heart tones and contraction patterns
• Assist with labor management, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections
• Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders
• Provide patient education, emotional support, and counseling
• Collaborate with OB/GYNs, midwives, anesthesiologists, and neonatal teams
• Monitor and evaluate care plans and treatment outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation per hospital standards
• May float to related women’s health units as needed
• Participate in on-call rotation when required

Education:

• ASN required | BSN preferred

Licensure:

• Active RN License (Colorado or Compact)

Certifications (Required):

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NRP

Additional Certifications (Preferred):

• PALS (as applicable)

Experience:

• Prior Labor & Delivery experience required/preferred
• Strong skills in fetal monitoring, labor support & emergency response
