Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery Recovery Postpartum position requiring proficiency in fetal monitoring and independent L&D practice.

Details

• >Work in a 6-bed Labor & Delivery unit with one C-section OR
• Manage laboring patients, circulate and assist in C-sections, and recover both labor and surgical patients
• Unit averages 100 deliveries monthly, collaborating with OBGYNs and midwives
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
• Works 4 days per week at 12 hours per shift, totaling 48 hours weekly
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Must be proficient in reading fetal monitoring strips
• Proficient in Labor & Delivery nursing practice
• Able to circulate for C-sections
• Able to triage OB patients
• Able to work independently without extensive oversight

Additional Information

• Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and plan patient care
• Assess discharge needs and support care planning for patients and families
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives
• Holiday coverage required for every other holiday
