Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long-Term Care night shift position requiring an active NY RN license and 1+ year of LTC/skilled nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in a 300-bed State/Government-run Long-Term Care Center offering rehabilitation therapies, skilled nursing, memory care, and wound care
  • Care for an Alzheimer's and Dementia patient population
  • Night shift, 8-hour shifts (22:45-7:15), 5 days per week, totaling 40 hours weekly
  • Patient ratio of 1:18-20
  • Every other weekend required
  • Uses PointClickCare (PCC) for charting, though experience is not required for consideration
  • Start dates occur every 2 weeks due to facility orientation schedule

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required at time of consideration with no license hits allowed
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 1 year of Long-Term Care (LTC) or skilled nursing experience required
  • Must be able to pass a medication administration (med pass) test and clinical observation
  • Strong attendance and punctuality required
  • Must be flexible with scheduling needs

Additional Information

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including accurate and safe medication passes
  • Monitor and report changes in resident condition
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation
  • Supervise CNAs on assigned units
  • Provide nursing care in accordance with facility policies
  • Attire consists of any solid-colored scrubs with closed-toe shoes
  • Free parking available on-site
  • Shift and RTO cannot be changed once an offer is accepted
  • Holiday RTO will not be approved; time off must be arranged directly with the facility after starting
  • Cannot take every holiday off
  • Call-outs must be given with more than 24 hours notice
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • Orientation occurs every 2 weeks and cannot be missed
  • Once offered, clinicians must complete required Relias training modules no later than 3 days prior to assignment start
  • Compliance process takes approximately 1.5-2 weeks
