Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an LTAC ICU position requiring 2+ years of current LTACH experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the LTAC ICU unit of a long-term acute care hospital
  • Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
  • Uses Meditech EMR
  • Night shift schedule rotating between 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
  • 84 hours per two-week pay period on a 36/48 rotating schedule
  • Every other weekend required
  • Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated

Requirements

  • Active KY or compact RN license in hand required at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of current LTACH experience required
  • MS/Tele or ICU experience preferred
  • Community hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and mechanical ventilation weaning
  • Skilled in arterial line management, femoral popliteal bypass care, and vent training for home preferred
  • Two professional references required, including one Charge or higher and one supervisor reference, both completed within the last year
  • Driver's license required, with address matching permanent address

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive ICU-level care within an LTAC setting, including ventilator management, cardiac monitoring, and complex wound care
  • Manage patients with conditions such as ARDS, sepsis, CHF, GI bleeds, CVA, and renal failure
  • Administer IV therapies including antiarrhythmics, vasopressors, thrombolytics, and continuous IV sedation
  • Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
  • Up to 7 days of RTO considered, must be requested upfront with no changes accepted
  • Must work either a major or minor holiday for every holiday period
  • Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
  • Assignment confirmation must be signed within 24 hours of an offer
  • Returning travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after working one year before becoming eligible to return
