Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Night Shift LTAC position requiring 2+ years of LTACH experience and an active KY or compact RN license.

Details

  • LTAC unit setting including ICU, MS, MS/Tele, and PCU work areas
  • Night shift schedule with rotating 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Rotating 36/48 schedule totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
  • Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
  • Uses Meditech EMR
  • Every other weekend required
  • Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated

Requirements

  • Active KY or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of current LTACH experience required
  • MS/Tele or ICU experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Meditech charting experience preferred
  • Community hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Skilled in managing ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
  • Two professional references required, including one Charge or higher and one supervisor reference completed within the last year
  • Valid driver's license matching permanent address required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care in a long-term acute care setting across ICU, MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units
  • Manage complex patient needs including ventilator weaning, wound care, and renal/endocrine conditions
  • Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted
  • Up to 7 days of RTO will be considered and must be submitted upfront with no changes accepted
  • Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
  • Travelers must take a minimum 6-month break from the system after completing one year before being eligible to return
  • Traveler pairs are accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
