Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a Joint Commission accredited hospital in Wilson, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Meditech proficiency.
Details
- Work takes place on the 3rd and 5th floor Med/Surg units of a 294-bed, Joint Commission accredited hospital
- Each unit has 22 beds serving an adult and geriatric patient population
- Common diagnoses and treatments include surgical cases, PD exchanges, line/device placement, and psychiatric presentations
- Patient ratio is 6:1, up to 7:1
- Telemetry equipment is used on the unit
- EMR is Meditech; experience is required
- 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required as a second nurse to Telemetry and the ED
Requirements
- Active RN license in NC or a compact state currently in hand
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Meditech EMR experience required
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidate's permanent address must be 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
- Orientation is held on a bi-weekly schedule
- Any color scrubs are acceptable
- Wilson, NC is located 45 miles east of Raleigh, approximately 2 hours from the NC coast, and within 1 hour of Duke, NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and East Carolina University
