Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg (Trauma/Ortho/Surgical) position requiring a PA or compact RN license and 2+ years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Details

• Work on the 9th Floor Med/Surg unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital setting
• Unit specializes in trauma, orthopedic, urology, colorectal, and general surgical patient care
• Adult patient population, primarily post-operative cases
• 44 beds spread across two nursing stations on one floor
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Uses EPIC EHR system
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required, with a minimum of 2 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to units with comparable patient population when needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA state or Compact) required
• 2+ years of RN experience required
• Trauma and Med/Surg experience required
• Must pass facility dysrhythmia and dosage calculation testing prior to starting on the unit
• PA state clearances required, including Child Abuse History Clearance, Department of Human Services Fingerprinting, FBI/Department of Aging Fingerprinting, and PATCH State Police Clearance
• Drug screen must be completed within 90 days of start
• MMR vaccination required with no declinations accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to adult trauma, orthopedic, urology, colorectal, and surgical patients in a post-operative setting
• Work within a robust float pool team, minimizing likelihood of being floated off the home unit
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• Professional appearance required with no designated scrub color
• Facial piercings limited to a single-sided nose stud; facial hoops are not permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
• Local candidates within 60 miles may be considered at the local rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
