Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Trauma/Ortho unit requiring an active PA or compact RN license and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Details

• Work on a 44-bed Med/Surg unit specializing in Trauma, Orthopedics, Surgical, Urology, and Colorectal care
• Level 1 Trauma Center hospital setting
• Adult patient population with post-op and trauma diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Uses EPIC EHR system
• 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Varied weekend requirement of at least 2 out of every 4 weekends
• No on-call responsibilities
• Must be willing to float to units with comparable patient population
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA state license or compact license) currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Trauma unit experience required
• Must pass a dysrhythmia and medication dosage calculation test prior to starting on the unit
• Must have complete and clear PA state screenings prior to start, including PA Child Abuse History Clearance, DHS Fingerprinting, FBI/Department of Aging Fingerprinting, and PATCH PA State Police Clearance
• Drug screen must be within 90 days
• MMR declinations not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide post-operative and trauma nursing care to an adult surgical patient population
• Unit supported by a robust float team, minimizing likelihood of agency staff being floated
• Professional appearance required; no designated scrub color
• Facial piercings limited to a single-sided nose stud; hoops not permitted on the face
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time
