Job Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of Med/Surg or Emergency Room nursing experience required
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• Experience with Cerner EHR/EMR required
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program
• Current Colorado RN license, or ability to obtain required licensure
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required, or completion at the next available course within 3 months
• Current PALS certification required, or completion at the next available course within 3 months
• Strong computer skills and comfort using electronic health records
• Professionalism, adaptability, teamwork, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Provide observation and inpatient nursing care to Med/Surg patients
• Assess, prioritize, and reassess patient needs throughout the shift
• Administer medications, IV therapy, oxygen therapy, blood products, and other ordered treatments accurately and on time
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly report abnormal findings
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the electronic health record
• Use sound clinical judgment to support continuity of care and reduce readmissions
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, wound care, discharge planning, and follow-up care
• Perform age-specific nursing care and maintain strong awareness of cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Transfer care using SBAR communication when appropriate
• Follow infection prevention practices, safety standards, and patient confidentiality requirements
• Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, and other departments to support excellent patient care
