Job Requirements
- Active Colorado RN license, or ability to obtain required licensure
- Minimum of 5 years of Med/Surg or Emergency Room experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Cerner EHR/EMR experience required
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required, or completion at the next available course within 3 months
- Current PALS certification required, or completion at the next available course within 3 months
- Strong computer skills and confidence using electronic health records
- Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and adapt in a fast-paced hospital environment
Responsibilities
- Provide observation and inpatient nursing care to patients in the Med/Surg unit
- Complete comprehensive assessments, care planning, reassessments, and evaluations
- Administer medications, IV therapy, oxygen therapy, blood products, and other ordered treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and escalate concerns appropriately
- Document assessments, interventions, patient education, and care progression in the electronic health record
- Use strong clinical judgment to support continuity of care and help reduce readmissions
- Provide patient and family education on treatment plans, medications, wound care, pain management, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
- Perform age-specific nursing care and demonstrate knowledge of cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
- Collaborate with providers, interdisciplinary team members, and support staff to promote safe, efficient care
- Follow infection prevention practices, patient safety standards, and confidentiality requirements
- Serve as a professional, dependable team member who supports a positive patient experience
