Join our Adult Medical Specialty Unit as a Registered Nurse, delivering acute care within a high-paced environment. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes, and those with experience using the EPIC charting system.

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Sat/Sun for days & Fri/Sat for nights)
• Floating Requirements: Rotation to any other acute care general medical area
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color professional scrubs. No visible tattoos, only earrings allowed as piercings.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care for adults with various health conditions including cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, and more.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor and manage set rate drips such as Heparin and Lasix.
• Utilize and maintain RT equipment like Bipap/Cpap units and administer inhalers as needed.
• Participate in unit/department specific orientation for the equivalent of 2-3 shifts.

Qualifications

Required:

• Active IL license or confirmation of application process initiation
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Experience in central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes
• Compliance with drug-free campus policy
• Ability to float to other acute care gen-med areas

Preferred:

• EPIC experience
• Previous travel experience on a MedSurg floor
• Experience in a level I trauma center
