Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical Oncology Telemetry night shift position requiring EPIC charting experience and MO or compact licensure.

Details

• Work in the Medical/Surgical Oncology Telemetry unit of a 233-bed acute care hospital
• Care for medical/surgical oncology patients with a 1:5-6 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Required to work every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday depending on rotation)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within service line to meet facility needs
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (no issuance if tied to another compact state)
• Current certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Fire Safety
• 2 years of recent RN experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy and phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs
• Experience accessing and managing ports preferred
• Experience administering and monitoring chemotherapy preferred
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills required
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams and isolation precautions/PPE
• PCA medication administration skills preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to medical/surgical oncology patients including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to emergencies using rapid response/code team protocols
• Navy scrub color required
• No parking costs at this facility
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
• Returning permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period and must take a 3-month break in service afterward
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Pending MO license accepted at time of submission
