Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift float position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• MS/Tele unit setting with float requirements within skillset and acuity
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Cerner charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active compact RN license or MD state license required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required within the last 7 years
• Must have completed at least 1 previous travel assignment
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
• Respiratory skills required including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and heparin protocols required
• Experience with neurological conditions including CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE experience required
• Experience with telemetry, cardiovascular, and post-MI patient care required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiovascular, renal, orthopedic, and plastics cases
• Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• Driver's license must match candidate address to confirm local status
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
