Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,640 - $1,730
- Setting: Med/Surg Telemetry with a neuroscience patient population
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Schedule: Every other weekend required; flexible scheduling based on unit needs
- Charting/System Experience: Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR
- Orientation: Unit orientation provided prior to independent assignment
- Work Environment: Busy adult and geriatric unit with strong interdisciplinary support

Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year of direct Med/Surg experience
- Previous travel nurse experience preferred; must have successfully completed at least 2 prior contracts
- Current BLS and NIHSS required
- ACLS preferred
- Experience with telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
- Strong IV start skills and experience caring for med-surg neuro patients
- Comfortable floating to other Med/Surg and Telemetry areas as needed
- Willingness to work every other weekend
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Ability to adapt to a high-acuity, fast-moving neuroscience environment
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for patients with stroke, seizure disorders, subdural hematomas, SAH, ICH, brain tumors, and other neuro-related diagnoses
- Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Perform IV starts, manage peripheral and central line care, and support blood product administration
- Care for patients requiring oxygen support, feeding tube management, and non-invasive airway support
- Assist with rapid response situations and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Support safe medication administration, including management of cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration when assigned
- Document accurately and communicate clearly using SBAR and unit workflows
- Float within Med/Surg Tele areas and contribute to team coverage needs
- Promote safe, compassionate, and efficient care in a high-volume neuroscience unit
