Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring telemetry experience and OH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit (3 North) with 26 beds
• Patient ratio of 4-5:1
• EMR system: MediTech
• Dress code: Navy Blue scrubs
• Night shift, 12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float to units within scope of practice and skill set required

Requirements

• Active RN license (OH or Compact) in hand, verifiable via Nursys
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Competency with cardiac medications (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardine, Dobutamine, Lasix, Bumex) including titration and administration
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and heart rhythm interpretation
• Strong critical thinking skills to recognize and intervene on changes in patient status
• Knowledge of stroke signs/symptoms and appropriate intervention
• Strong communication skills
• Skills checklist pertinent to Med Surg/Telemetry, current within 1 year, required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation using age-specific criteria
• Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries
• Candidates within a 45-mile radius of the facility are considered local travelers and subject to a reduced travel rate
• Requests for more than 7 days off or more than 50% of holidays off may affect processing timeline
• No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted
