Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN with 2 years of cardiac tele experience for a night shift position requiring an active CA RN license.

Details

• MedSurg/Cardiac Telemetry CMU unit (3 West)
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 1900-0730
• Every other weekend coverage required, with additional weekend shifts as needed
• Float required to MedSurg/ED hold
• Uses Omnicell medication system and EPIC for documentation
• SBAR communication system utilized

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Onsite EKG test required
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with pacemakers (temporary/permanent), post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, and TAVR
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and heparin protocols
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and oxygen administration
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with IV insulin protocols, feeding tube management, and CBI
• Experience with post-hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• Experience with CVA, ortho trauma, and total joint replacement patients
• Experience with surgical drains and chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
• One professional reference required (within 2 years)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a cardiac telemetry unit including monitoring and management of dysrhythmias
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
• Floating assigned based on hospital census
• Scrubs required in navy blue or solid color
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous permanent staff members are not eligible for consideration
• Locals accepted at a lower rate
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration and cannot be added afterward
